<h3>NIKON Coolpix P90</h3>
<p><strong>In my research about Digital Cameras in general and the Coolpix P90 by NIKON</strong> in particular, I have discovered quite some interesting additional points and conclusive material. . . especially as concerns the super zoom which intrigued me immediately, considering this P90 camera being<span> surprisingly light. </span></p>
<p><span>Obviously, getting a superzoom camera while  at the same time avoiding the  size and weight (&#8230; and cost!) that a DSLR with a large zoom lens would entail, appeals to me. However, the results are not as compelling &#8211; and I have to weigh how far I can go considering the fact that I focus on material I need for my Artwork on Photoshop etc&#8230; where speed and flexibility are of the essence.</span></p>
<h3><span>NIKON Coolpix P90 on Google</span></h3>
<p><strong>Meanwhile, we&#8217;ve checked our climb towards Google Top 10 &#8230; </strong>and while we were on spot 30 this morning, we&#8217;ve made it to spot 18 by now &#8211; and this on <strong>1,270 MILLION search returns</strong> &#8211; thanks to the finetuning of the Semiomantics Scripts&#8230; and the result from our Ycademy Seminar Trainings! Watch this space&#8230; we can do better :)</p>

<p><strong>Today there is no Advertising and Marketing via the Internet without Digital Photography &#8211; </strong>at least as a point de depart, a starting point. If involved in that Media one has to be properly equipped&#8230; and while I have always been passionate about photography &#8211; especially Black and White Photography &#8211; right from being a little girl and watching my mother take extremely expressive and evocative pictures with her simple little &#8216;black box&#8217;&#8230; to having my first camera and spending hours in Nature to get the right shot&#8230; to working with professional Advertising Photographers in Europe (Stills, Foods, Fashion)&#8230; andeventually integrating Photography in my own professional work &#8230; and yes, I remember the debates, heated discussions and fierce intellectual struggles as to whether or not this medium IS to be considered as &#8216;Art&#8217;&#8230; and seeing a highly talented classmate evolve into the highest paid living Artistic Photographer in the world ($1 million for one photo &#8211; <a title="Andreas Gursky" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andreas_Gursky" >Andreas Gursky</a>)&#8230; to this day, where I&#8217;m on my way<strong> </strong>to find a Digital Camera that fits my specific personal purposes, meaning that it delivers the material I need for my Digital Art and Web Graphics.</p>

<p><strong>I&#8217;ve been looking for a while and the market is simply phenomenal. . .</strong> However, my choice has eventually narrowed down and currently I am investigating the new Coolpix P90 by NIKON.</p>

<p>Considering the different elements of a web presence we permanently test the efficiency of online advertising on our test sites.<br />

<p>Our preferred web sites (from Semiomantics) consist of three distinct elements:</p>
<p>1. The Software which runs the show.</p>
<p>2. The visible Frame of the site consisting of stable static elements, such as design elements (where applicable), sidebars, footers, headers, defined fields in the layout designed to hold static or predefined content.</p>
<p>3. The Content which can be dynamic (such as blog posts) or static (such as static pages).</p>
<p>The boarder between static and dynamic content is not  based an exact science, the more that recent developments allow for dynamic content on traditionally static elements and static features on dynamic elements.<br />

<h3>Traditional Online Advertising</h3>
<p>In the past, web sites consisted of static pages with static content and more or less pre-defined areas where ads were posted.</p>
<p>With the development of blogs Google seemed to start to privilege dynamic content, assuring that search returns represent amongst others fresh content and the latest posts on a topic.</p>
<p>Blog sites are traditionally well divided into two parts:</p>
<p>1. The dynamic content</p>
<p>2. The static frame</p>
<p>Online Advertising was added to the static sidebars, headers and footers.<br />

<p>Contextual Advertising with Google Ads (AdSense) is an automated process by which contextual ads are associated with content whereas the ad served is function of the content (topic, keywords, tags). A brilliant idea, considering the time saved and the enhanced targeting.</p>
<p>Today, there is no limit for advertising; ads can be contextual in respect to a post content or in respect to the main purpose of the site as such. Ads can be embedded in static and dynamic parts of the web site and they can have most any form and shape, from text to media.<br />

<p>Also as a publisher, your focus reaches beyond the visible part of your site; you also keep an eye and manage your feeds and as the case may be other products linked to your publication, such as media, free give aways and downloads.<br />

<p>Behavioral Marketing and Advertising have been an ambition for quite some time. Also it seems that pure behavioral strategies remain less efficient than the traditional word to mouth strategies.<br />

<p>Semantics are important in any targeted marketing concept; however, as per now, developers continue to struggle and no automated generally useful formula has been found yet. If and when search engines such as Google are capable to apply advanced semantics to the search engine technology, things may change, but yet we are miles away from a semantic Google engine.<br />

<p>To keep things simple for average users, developers have invented Niche Marketing. Niche Marketing is a brilliant concept for most any web master, since it eliminates many problems the non professional may encounter when publishing online.</p>
<p>By focusing on a particular topic, category or niche, the scope of the site is limited and targeting is easier as it&#8217;s relatively convenient to choose products and services to associate to a niche keyword.</p>
<p>Sure, the big advertising programs or big merchants have a solution for all and everybody making it easy to add ads to any site, namely if the site is clearly focused on a niche. And yet, many publishers, blog masters and newbie webmasters struggle to place the ads in a meaningful way on their sites.<br />

<h3>The Google Guru Guru Approach</h3>
<p>Google Gurus, rich of advise, have a tip and an answer to all the problems we may encounter, however the Guru Approach seems more often than not to be focused on the interests of Google rather than the individual publisher.</p>
<p>According to widely published Google Gurus, to reach Google Top 10 you need good (original) content, and loads of it. Looking at search returns, this is obviously not true, and Google is obviously not in a position to measure quality and to distinguish good from bad, original from copy and true from fake. It&#8217;s wishful thinking to imagine that Google search results will get substantially better by just tweaking the algorithm a bit here and a tick there.</p>
<p>Another Guru Approach is to make us believe that we have to clearly tag, mark or distinguish ads from other content. There is nothing wrong with that per se; but as a web master, it is not my job to work for Google and to make the distinctions READABLE by Google.</p>
<p>Example: to comply with legal rules (Consumer Protection) one could load a title &#8220;Advertisement&#8221; in form of an image or a flash tag which Google cannot read. We comply with the rules, however Google is not capable of reading it. Google Gurus want to make us believe that we have to be more catholic than the pope and edit for Google. The Guru Approach often is an approach with tends to protect the Guru Status and if you want to be a Google Guru, just repeat stupidly what Google writes smartly on their sites and blogs.</p>
<p>The good news is that Google Blogs are analyzed by many Gurus like Alan Greenspan&#8217;s statements a few years back. The Gurus then feed their stuff to main stream and they luckily are followed by the masses of developers and blog masters. This is the good news as it indicates clearly where not to head to.<br />

<p>Online Advertising Secrets, Google Secrets and such like do exist; the day they are revealed, they are no secrets anymore. By definition there is no such thing as a shared secret and a secret is usually revealed when it does not profit the holder of a secret anymore.</p>
<p>The only real Advertising secrets I can think of concern target keywords and the way to reach out for the targeted buying public. No one will ever share with you a money making keyword, namely in an AdSense environment, and no one will ever share with you the underlying strategy used to publish in a highly (Google) efficient way.</p>
<p>And yet there is a solution to the problem: <strong>you can learn to create your own professional secrets.</strong> You can learn how to analyze keywords and how to test and optimize your keyword targeting. And you can learn how to publish and how to advertise on your publication. You draw the conclusions from various publishing strategies, apply them to your business and secret keywords, test and optimize and there will be nothing in the way for you to become a Guru, your own Guru. But don&#8217;t tell anyone else.<br />

<p>If there has been a celebrity who caught worldwide attention during 30 years, it&#8217;s Michael Jackson. Never before, nor since, a singer was able to create a buzz like Thriller.<br />

<p>Michael Jackson&#8217;s death hit the internet like a bomb: the WWW went just on slow motion, even large sites such as Twitter and Facebook. Within minutes the news was out all over the  world before the big news agencies and news networks started broadcasting the breaking news; once more the Internet had become the ultimate source for the latest headlines.<br />

<p>Of course for the last 8 hours about Google&#8217;s top spots are monopolized by the big boys who throw all their publishing power into the game. As the news come in at a high pace, it&#8217;s about impossible for us small publishers to grab a spot with high visibility.<br />

<h3>Semiomantics in the Race</h3>
<p>Just midnight here in Europe we had been informed about the upcoming Buzz. We thought of testing our means by just publishing a three lines announcement about the death of Michael Jackson. As publishers we had two objectives: first to test Semiomantics while the biggest buzz on the Internet since Obama&#8217;s election lasted and then to feed the news through our channels to social networks, Tweeter and Facebook. We will report at a later stage about the behavior of the feed on Social Networks.<br />

<h3>Moments of  Success</h3>
<p>Surprisingly we could see our post on Google almost instantly, however the glory did not last for long. Within about 15 minutes we disappeared again and for good. The buzz created overload and for hours our server&#8217;s performance was compromised. In fact we only fully recovered YORGOO Publishing this morning.</p>

Some of the most used ways to bring visitors to our blog are email, search engine optimization, aggregators, social networking, wod to mouth. In short: all means of communication are good to make people aware of our blog or a blog post.<br />

<p>While the first task of your content is to be noticed by search engines and spiders in order to be indexed and listed in the most appropriate way, the second task is to provide your reader content of interest and value.</p>
<p>The indexing and listing makes it possible for people to find your posts when they search for information, solutions, benefits or for whatever they may type into a search box.</p>
<p>Once they are on your site, the quality of you content will decide on your success; it can build trust, inspire authority and most importantly, it can trigger people to help you promote your blog by sharing the post or URL with friends.<br />

<p>As a publisher, you want to optimize the mix of content and advertising. Many studies exist about how much space to allocate to ads and where to place commercial content. <p><strong>Whoever has listened to last night&#8217;s InfoCall with Yorgo Nestoridis in yorGOtalk</strong> must finally come to the conclusion that the time invested over the rather difficult period of the past two years in terms of learning and applying highly complex technical matter such as coding etc  (&#8230;that was for sure not everyone&#8217;s cup of tea, mine neither&#8230; ) &#8211; that all this time spent NOT infront of the TV, NOT on the beach and NOT in the pub BUT listening to Calls and attending the monthly Ycademy Online Business Building Seminars&#8230; was all worth it in view of the future changes and approaches by Google&#8230; in case the belief up till then was a little shaky.</p>
<p><strong>Conclusion: we are following the right Path to Profitability, the right VISION and the right Leadership </strong>- and with the Knowledge and Tools we get or learn to handle and apply, everybody should sooner or later find HIS or HER very specific &#8217;solution&#8217; or &#8216;niche&#8217; to profit financially and reap the rewards.</p>
<p>My inner barometer says: Exxxxxxciting times ahead&#8230; and together we may be sculpting them along with the &#8216;big boyz&#8217;&#8230;</p>
