Sean’s first reaction was to wonder why anyone would make such an object as a crystal skull!
Mrs. H explained that her late husband had been an anthropologist and in the early years of their marriage she had accompanied him on his field studies in various countries. One of the more remarkable objects that he had found in the course of exploring some ancient dwelling places was the crystal skull. Its date of manufacture and provenance remained a mystery despite his best efforts to trace the object back to its creators.
Many apocryphal stories surrounded the skull but Dr. H was not convinced by any of them and in the end accepted that perhaps the crystal skull had come into his possession for reasons that would only become clear over time.
The monograph that he wrote on the skull remained unpublished at the time of his death at an early age. The widowed Mrs. H, however, found that when she ’sensed’ late her husband’s presence around her, she was repeatedly drawn to the skull. Over time she learned to ‘listen’ to the skull and found that it seemed to act as a medium of communication between her and her deceased husband. She found that she had mental impressions and intimations of changes that were to occur in her life and this enabled her to prepare herself and others for such events.
Mrs. H came to think of the skull as an aid in keeping her ‘on track’ in terms of becoming more sensitive to subtle ‘messages’ from ‘higher consciousness’. Holding the skull whilst sitting quietly and opening her consciousness to receive whatever might be coming her way, had become a daily practice that led to deeper and deeper experiences of the subtle level of communication that humans are capable of. A few years after Sean had finished graduate school, he read with some sorrow of the death of Mrs. H. It had been her final wish for the skull to be buried with her.
